Next destination ... "Light" Seeing and enjoying

some weeks in local newspapers has become a scene future Bus Station: station if no station, parking underground if no underground parking, housing officials if no housing officials, firefighters and storage if fire and stores do not ...

Bus Station was built between 1943 and 1947, the municipal architect Félix de Azua Gruart . To date, its construction was a free space, the only area of the Eixample (Seneca Square). Its construction was done under the mayoralty of Roman Marin Bono, but were inaugurated under the leadership of Manuel Montesinos Gómiz the July 21, 1947, being present civil governor Jose Mary Patel. It was an important work as demanded by the public, becoming one of the first provincial capitals that had a. Enrique Cerdan Tato in The Gatera also tells us of the rules of the Season:

The regulations will Central Bus Station, corporate meeting approved February 28 the same year , in its fifth article warned that bus stops could do voluntary, from the booths to the terminal means, under pain of severe penalties, even where their respective agencies were located "Scattered throughout the city-," which were closed and replaced by the lockers that are concessionaires were arranged in the station repeated. " Months before, Don Rafael Herrera Alberola had already requested the relevant report, to establish a passenger line between Alicante and Madrid. As Don Juan Valero Campomanes, owner and first director of Radio Alicante, applied in the building premises to install a telephone telegram service. In the same way that negotiating a tobacco outlets, doorbells and administration of the state lottery. In addition, Don Felix de Azua envisaged by the March 10 a buffer zone to defend the bus station and avoid the establishment there of bars, shops, tobacconists, newsagents and so on.

For more historical data, I recommend the article from the web Alicante Vivo: Seneca, a plaça per to memòria . (Photo n ° 2 obtained from the Web Alicante Vivo.)

As published by the Association of Architects in the Official Information: is a commitment to building a functional architecture and make it clear using a modern material such as reinforced concrete vault in his waiting room and in the canopies of the platforms, although the building was camouflaged with historicist languages as a tribute to the policy guidelines of the moment. Thus, collects and shows the characteristics of English architecture when it was built. Hence its value.

once commented that I will go reeling off the track as I have written in the first paragraph, leaving my personal opinion for the final. The first aspect would be to "station whether or not station." According
as published in newspapers, neighbors (first stakeholders) do not require demolition. What if you just want to get in the resulting space has a staff sports meeting space as a community center and a public green area. Something very normal and I think all Alicante wants. All this is very clear, but ... "preserves the terminal?

According
VisorSigPac , if you tear down the terminal would be released approximately 3612 meters square (not counting the homes of officials and teachers), and if not demolish about 1920 square meters would be free.

If the terminal would have to be demolished to build a new building to accommodate the requests of the neighborhood, whether in the same land or in the fire station and stores, which will also be vacated and demolished, as has come published (subject to discuss later).
If we have the demolition of the houses the public area measures would be about 6800 square meters, with the terminal, and approximately 5060 meters square if we exclude the terminal.
Another issue is that of the murals benaluense Gaston Castelló (1902-1986). These are undoubtedly two murals of significant value not only for himself from them, but what they represent. In the north of the vault, this represented the province of Alicante (photo No. 4) , and located south of Alicante city and its most emblematic buildings. In the case of a decision on the demolition of the terminal, could always save the murals, as did the apse of the chapel of the Marist Brothers, who moved from the center of Alicante to its current location.

Whatever happens it seems clear is that there is a public area, so the area win in dynamism and light, especially the latter, since in the center We Alicante few garden squares.

Something that is coupled to the instruction of the square is the subject of underground parking . According to the municipality is doing a study on the feasibility of such an infrastructure in the area. On the one hand it seems a good idea to build a parking lot, since we all know what it takes to find parking. On the other seems to afford an infrastructure for the project, because if you park the night with ease is because those who live in the area is already covered their place, either in parking own the building, nearby buildings or the Maisonave .

The third element in discord is the four blocks of buildings officials. As published in the Journal Truth is 54 homes, of which there are 10 empty. Of the remaining 46 are occupied by people aged 10 and 36 families own two or more members. The scheme is for rent (there are 9 cases of vacation per year). These homes, contemporary to the bus station, are quite degraded both façades and roofs. And like any family there who agree with the move (keeping the rent paid) to a new promotion in San Blas, Plaza of the Americas and Benalua while than others does not make any grace, as is understandable since they are in the center of Alicante.

A third alternative proposed is the demolition and subsequent construction of homes in the same place and respecting the heights expected the General Plan for the area.

The fourth of the elements are old firefighters and municipal workshops . The latter has not been able to read much in the newspapers, to reach a more relevant the issue of terminal and housing. It appears that the conditions of the firefighters on the street Italy are not the most appropriate, as seen in the complaint to put the same body as the system storage of drums of fuel. It is also an area with enough traffic that I imagine that makes a quick exit.

I said that I have made my opinion clear . The demolition of houses and platform, being released about 5060 meters (although I fully understand that people have totally against). After doing this if they build the underground parking lot, as I believe never enough parking. On top of this car I imagine a track -side football and basketball with gardens "Old Bus Station" where inside could be neighborhood activities and see the frescoes of Gaston Castelló. A separate issue would be the stores and firefighters. In the latter case only would support demolition if they do something really important and to give life to the neighborhood, such as an indoor sports (as I have claimed), if there is sufficient soil. If this demolition does not accompany any significant building would prefer to bring in value such buildings. Would in any of these last two options, where realojaria businesses that would be eliminated as Bus Stop bar , as your you can go, but the clientele is not to follow you if you move away.

Another issue is the future station. I had always argued that his transfer to the Murcia station killed two birds with one stone, since by side make room for the city center and on the other side would value the beautiful Murcia station. Besides buses would not enter the city because as it could open a road from the entrance of the highway to the port. When I was clear about all this was commented that there would be a intermodal station in of Renfe : T ren, taxis, bus and tram (The latter including a line to Altet Airport ) . Given this possibility and putting in place of someone coming to Alicante, having everything in one place, provided that the infrastructure is well designed, it makes things a lot. It seems that this is what will happen but in the meantime is to build a temporary bus station next to the Murcia. That said only hope that since it is cheaper to build than fixed, when the future bus station to become "old bus station" (ie it has built an intermodal station conditions) use that is given to such a station is good for citizens ...

And to continue the tradition ..... Where is it?

Homemade Iron Molding

The title of this article is very clear, see and enjoy. That's what happens when you step onto the Sierra de San Julian, the great unknown for most of Alicante. The first time I wrote on this blog commented that talk about places that may go unnoticed and deserve interest, or just places that we visited in a while and really deserve to be re to see.

The climb to San Julián , or whatever it is, the mountain located to the east of the two that make up the Serra Grossa or Quarry (The other of the mountains would be to Santa Ana or of Molinet, it would be really the quarry), be done on two fronts . The first would be located behind the Jesuits, and a path would end up giving half of San Julian. The second access is from the Isleta or Albufereta Avenue. In this case you get in a car but only up to three quarters of travel. This second option is the one I made.

Once above we can see that the ride is even more enjoyable, because it changes the slope by a virtually flat surface, and we can realize that there are two distinct areas. A first in the presence of low scrub pines and is surrounded by a road that once could move vehicles coming up to cut the rock into a small stretch (see photo No. 2). Although the step does not recommend this way but outside it, closer to the edge, and so we can enjoy the scenery.

In the eastern half found a masonry building (photo n º 3) and four meters wide with two buttresses, which descends asbestos cement pipe (photo n º 5). Inside we found some asbestos cement pipes, and beside it a landmark in which you can read (photo No. 4): ESSO / ALICANTE / GROS / 1981 . Today replaced the building to place two questions. The first is Does anyone know which are the building and the landmark? (I know the answer.)

already on the other side of San Julián , where he finished the road, which does not mean there are no paths, shrubs and ground is even more plain.

But the most beautiful of the visit are the views , As I said. Looking north see the old orchard of Alicante, Condomina, San Juan, Muchamiel, Vistahermosa ... with the Alicante mountains in the background (photo n º 6) [If pulsáis in the panorama, you can see enlarged]

If we turn our view towards the left leave to see the garden and replaced it with the urban landscape in the north of Alicante (photo n º 7).

If now decided to head west, next to Santa Ana and The British (oil factory Fourcade and Provot which is only a shell - photo # 8), our eyes can see the sea and the north of Alicante with the Castle of Santa Barbara guard (photo n º 9).

If we decide to look south see directly the sea, and if you have luck like me to see a large number of sailing school will seem even more pleasant view. S i from the eastern part of San Julián , near the Isleta, we look lift, we see perfectly the Cabo de las Huertas or Alcodre, Playa de San Juan and El Campello, sight can reach up to Sierra Frost (photo n º 10).

And while we see those fabulous views make exercise of imagination, thinking about how would the quarry in the early twentieth century ... Figueras Pacheco in General Geography of the Kingdom of Valencia (1914) wrote ... We have reached the point where it begins or the hill of Santa Ana Molinet, extension of the Sierra de San Julian, whose name might be the mother of Alicante, for their endless sandstone quarry materials have left almost all constructions of the population. The houses, temples and even docks, owe their existence to the prodigal saw mutilated by the work of the peak for more than twenty centuries, but willing, apparently, to continue to give blocks to the end of time. Under one of the huge cliffs that the extraction of stones left on this mountain, you see the buildings and premises of an important oil factory (At least between 1900 and 1914 was to supply 55% of English market) that located adjacent to the coast, has a small dock iron (and wood) to facilitate or recovery of their traffic (This spring, known as Santa Ana, was destroyed by a storm before 1929 and not rebuilt. Since this date the refinery might opt for other means of transport, the railway of the Navy from 1915 linking Alicante to Denia and a branch line connecting the refinery with the Madrid station MZA company and the port. (Immaculate Aguilar Civera. Mueso Journal of Transport of the Valencian Community. In the British Na Refinery Factory of "The Quarry" by Demetrio Alicante.Catedra Rives. 2006) . After the factory , widening the field by a recess of the mountains, and here is the old hotel Mancha, nursing passers for short periods, and dependence on the field today war (Photo n º 11. Obtained from the Web Alicante Vivo).

At these sites the ride is only accessible to people of reckless courage. The slopes of the mountains are becoming more rapid, almost vertical in places. The road is narrow, and covered with pebbles that roll from the summit, intended to draw a path that allows the passage, but huge and horrible precipices, we come to meet, and the step is interrupted in many places by large cuts in its bottom huge rocks appear beaten by the sea that breaks into a roaring white foam. The path that speak has been called The Pas Mal and has caused much misery to those who recklessly tried to save their obstacles. the loneliness of the place and the roar of the waves crashing on the rocks, and the influence of the mole that seems to gravitate upon us, this site printed a stamp of majesty and overpowering imposed. The engineers, however, do not feel these influences when designing their projects, and hence the two roads are to be built between the mountains and the sea. One is the railroad Marina (Image # 12) , another of the Orchard Road: Both are started and they have built several tunnels, but the fragments of blocks that roll down from the top, seem opposed to the purpose of men, and have disabled most of the work done.

Or we might think, this time looking towards the northeast, in the Garden of Alicante of the XVII and XVIII where towers would be a series of gardens, the closest being the Torre de Las Aguilas (pp. XVII century) and the farthest of Ansaldo (ff. S. XV - pp. XVI century), located between the towns of San Juan and Muchamiel.

could also go even further back, the Iberian world the Cerro de Las Balsas (named have a house there in the 70's were selling food products), or the Roman world in Lucentum. The area was further changed since Albufereta came to almost the Cerro de La Balsas, being in that stretch the Roman jetty (now in stores MARQ) (Photo n º 13. Obtained from the Ibero-Roman Lucentum. Tossal de Manises, Alicante. Diputación de Alicante. 1988).

And to conclude I can only ask heights that I performed in San Julian, but not a radical action but tidy , ie put some wooden tables arranged to access and some parking, but no more than ten. Access is already built, perhaps it would have a higher cost, so it would only fix it with the rock wall (trying to avoid possible landslides), because once you go up one thinks that the views are fantastic and could be a great playground on the walk.
As I said before, today would be two questions. One is already done, now do the second. When was the access to San Julian and for what? (as before, I know the answer)

St.dalfour Whitening Cream In Dubai

The role of the educated man.

At the time I said I would write about the city of Alicante, and will remain so. May not understand the topic you write, but not to contradict me welcome to the city are also citizens (perhaps this way of looking at something is a bit of political ...).

This time it is a reflection aloud.
You go down the street and just see dirt (papers on the floor, cans, bags ...) but if one looks Beyond you can see how people unceremoniously throws one, even taking just 50 meters from a bin or container (for paper is every bit ...).

From here do not mean to blame the council, although it has its share of the blame do not think it is a higher percentage, because the first thing in the morning the streets are more or less clean (at least areas why I step). I think there are a number of reasons why it is a dirty city Alicante (without going into those engaged to decorate the walls with great signatures ...). I often think that in a city where rain is easier it is clean, that small papers and cigarette butts are going through openings in the sewer, or where there is less habit of "going out " by the cold weather, but equally I think a high percentage of fault is in us, citizens, unable to endure a bit to pull the paper, the propaganda, the butt, stock market, the rest of the dumpling ... in the garbage or trash .

To this one might add that if the sidewalks were clean people do not throw anything because that would be rare and not think that's "total, for one more ...".

paseéis
simply set when the number of people paper strip down and we no longer even noticed ... to see if we can hold on to the piece of paper a few feet ...

Not to change the style .... Where is it?

Buy Adventure Ticket Rohini

El Moro to comb.

Last week our castle excellence, and that I was not angry the San Fernando, again go to the " dressmaker." few years ago that was, but ultimately could not even wear a dress or headdress. All this to come? Well, the news "re-appeared" last week in newspapers installation on a cable car between the port and the male of the Castillo de Santa Barbara .

I can not imagine the male topped by a castle, cabin cable cars and their subsequent post. The project if you have things that attract me, such as changing the elevators (an obvious ...), conditioning and opening to the public of new areas of the castle, the creation of a city museum and an auditorium for 2500 people .

seems clear that this initiative is to bring the castle to the town , what happens is that I personally do not agree with the way [The fact they want to bring strength to the city is also the idea of installing a restaurant for a thousand diners]. In my opinion it is an idea closest to alicante 60 ' (where essential to develop) that the current, trying to (in fewer cases than it should) take care of the city's historic legacy .

Furthermore, without knowing the state of the slope, it seems somewhat risky , terrible as well (for they are very nice views) build a cable car on the south side, as have a detachment and the male of the castle is damaged from the explosion contramina in 1709, the War of Succession, in which the English took the castle of Alicante, and made a series of reforms that "put him up." I imagine that the installation of the cable car in that side is not so complicated, even though this may not be in good condition, because it makes things much more complicated, but what if that makes me difficult, as I said before, is the inability to see the castle as it stands, without the comb. (photo2: extracted from Alicante Vivo )

Personally I think there are other ways to bring the castle to the citizens and visitors, even if it means losing the character "Solemn" you have now.

Before finishing, and to propose that ... Where is it?, here I want to congratulate the whole team of Alicante Vivo for the work they do and by the appearance of your blog in the Journal information.

Here is the photo of yore ...

Christmas Sleigh Cake Stand

has fallen under its own weight.

The title of this article could be literal if it leaves more time Roig Rabal wall in your state. It appears, as published in About the Journal a couple of weeks, which have been tendered for restoration works (the company being awarded Lubasa), so as I am relieved that I was a "pain" each time he passed through the area.

Photo 1: Front of Rabal Roig in 1939. Photo Graphic Memory extracted from Alicante and the Region. A Century in Pictures.

In that article was written, as I mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the word restoration . I emphasize this because it was published a few years ago was intended to put a concrete wall in front of the famous wall, so that it could expand into a lane Calle Virgen del Socorro. Thankfully, the end was not carried out.

Since then the state of the wall Postiguet is deplorable, the ashlar it is messed up at the same dirty, the fence that separates it from the road is broken and the trees that are between the wall and the fence are just used to hide a little dirt there is rampant. To this we must add the lift to the castle built by Agatángelo Soler during his tenure at City Hall (1954-1963) which is also in very poor condition.

Rabal The wall is part of the coastline of Alicante, and is not wall (something that is widely spoken in Alicante when he mentioned the possible construction of the concrete wall). The wall is announcing the New Gate of the wall of Alicante with the neighborhood of Rabal Roig (specifically to the hermitage of the Virgen del Socorro or Lluc), formed in the eighteenth century. Photo 2: Calle Virgen del Socorro. Photo extracted from the web Alicante Vivo

Figueras Pacheco, in his Geography of the Kingdom of Valencia , tells us that the wall began Rabal, in his first book, during the reign of Philip III (1578 - 1621) to contain the ledge of the hill on which the suburb is built . Similarly, the author talks about the maritime tradition of the neighborhood, writing:

The houses of Arabal Roig are home to our fishermen, and from the balcony which is the street on the beach where the boats are built and up networks, may the families of the brave and suffering sailors in the distance look white sails of couples fishers. (...) Passing the shrine to which we refer (the author refers to the now defunct Ermita de la Virgen del Socorro) the extiendese in Arrabal Roig many short and steep streets that come a few steps from the beach, ending the neighborhood in the vicinity of the slaughterhouse, place and known to our readers.

Curious this neighborhood, which has become a poor neighborhood of low prices that fed salted because it was a cheap way to keep what he had caught, in a neighborhood with the most expensive streets of Alicante (Virgen del Socorro), although the origin of the neighborhood is not exactly in that street, but in its easternmost end, around the shrine of Nuestra Senora del Socorro, demolished for reasons today that are not yet known. For almost 30 years enabled a place of worship, at the request of neighbors, in the parking lot near where the old chapel (Ramon Candelas Orgiles, The hermitage of the province of Alicante) . Photo 3: Shrine of Our Lady of Socorro or Lluc. Photo extracted from the web Alicante Vivo

Ultimately I left a bitter taste adrezado with some sugar. The bitter taste is the "walk" through my mouth every time I see the state in which the famous wall, coming to me shame. On the other hand are the sugary shades I read a couple of weeks, and I hope that little by little they change the taste in my mouth ... clear that I have them all with me ...

Following the "tradition" I put a new photo of a building of Alicante ...

Request Kode Do Gta 4

already played. Square Zero

On Wednesday 18 was published in the Journal Que! that the City will be renovating six squares of Alicante, which was the Plaza de la Muntanyeta , of many that would have to clean up at least. The truth is that it was time to remodel the plaza, stuck in the same downtown, and Maisonave Avenue has started these days and that was falling to pieces, thanks in part to citizens do not care around us, as it is ours ... (And boy does it not ours!)

According to that article, the plaza will become more shadows and gardening. I imagine them to use soft ground, ie the ring, so fashionable to be the opposite of hard (but artificial). Of course what they do hope to leave a place so central is better than , which really is not difficult.

The square is quite modern and is located in the heart of a neighborhood designed by Miguel Lopez in the 30's, beginning to urbanize during the early postwar years, being shaped as an important administrative center to be located in the north of the square on Civil Government by Ricardo Magdalena and direction of Alfonso Fajardo, although it had won the contest Acha Alberto Urioste (1945), the well was constructed in 1945 Our Lady of Grace Peral Serrano and Alberto Tax Office Acha Urioste (1945). On the west side of the square was built by the Delegation of the Ministry of Public Works and Felix Fajardo Azua, which at that time was the municipal architect. On the south side planned House was built Movement (Photo 2 extracted from the web Alicante in memory and in the News )

But despite that constuyesen all at the same time if we look alrrededor when we are in this square, will not yield a homogeneous overall picture since the Civil Government is academic, the Treasury is neoflorentina Delegation, the Delegation of the Ministry of Public Works takes supposedly a neoclassical language and Our Lady of Grace repeats the pattern of Counter- plant only with side chapels, deeply rooted in local architecture.

For the construction of all the administrative center of the mid-twentieth century had to remove the mound giving rise to the name of the square. This hill grove and came up early in the century it was still a tower of the walls of Alicante, a mill and more modest houses of the suburb of San Francisco.

Well because I'm leaving a few vacation days I put seven images instead of one. The last one belongs to a defunct farm.

Weight Of Famous Actresses

(Ed.)

Every time I pass by the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Alicante my heart sinks to your feet. Here I see a parking with four boxes and a lot of cars bunched . I sincerely believe we deserve a better place (Photo 1 Sig.Pac extracted Viewer)

My I can think of solutions to this , some may not be feasible, and each time I am there I imagine them. Say you really need a car in the same square. Well, Why not a small underground parking? I am aware of both the spending and that there was once water, but this latest is no impediment. Once the cars were out we would be a gray square. Before this I wonder how better? For gardens, but ... What About the council fire and other acts? This is less expensive than the above. I imagine a series of large planters and low height that when the time is can carry, exposing a clean installation of the fire. To understand me better, these boxes would be like "cake pans" but much bigger. Then we will have gardens to the city council but it is time to get into a truck to make room for the act in question.

Photo extracted from the website of the City of Alicante

was published some time ago the possibility of demolishing the Provincial Court in such whereby it is a larger square framed by the city and the rear facade of the Casa Carbonell. If this happens the Hotel Palas would be more or less in front of an open space, as was once (hence the main entrance where it is). In my view there is no need to come to that (although I would not mind much, another thing is as it would leave the sides of the square, which are the same as the building remolerían) just need some will.

The truth is that the Town Hall does not deserve a place on its doorstep as he does . A triangular plaza that was once (as shown in Photo 4, taken from Www.alicantevivo.blogspot.com ) but, drawing on the explosion of the armory El Gato, owned by Alfredo Llopis, on July 31, 1943, was renovated. Figueras Pacheco in Geography of the Kingdom of Valencia (1914) presents us as a place the approximate shape of right triangle whose hypotenuse is the line of houses that support the upper floors of a series of porches or arcades running around the front of the block. On this side lies the building of the hearing, and opposed to him in the leg more, City Hall. Remember that back then the name of the place was that of Alfonso XII. Our Town Hall, located right in the line of the late medieval wall, is not primitive because after the bombing of 1691 had to edify practically zero, extending the previous space, for which they had to demolish the adjoining buildings. The work began in January 701, but due to the Succession War stopped work, the work can be completed on March 1, 1760 (actually the building was not quite finished, something that did not happen until some years later).

Within this darkness looms some clarity. The school's College of Technical Architects Alicante will be installed in Calle Altamira (rehabilitating a building for it) and the building next to the city also has a panel which reads building purchased for rehablitación .

Following the usual ... Where is this building?

Greetings!

few lines above commented that some time ago was published in the newspaper it was possible to eliminate the building of the Provincial Court (López and Monastery, after winning a public tender in the middle of last century). Then I put a picture (Coat Salt n º 9) in which the square is the City without such buildings, to give you a slight idea.
